GRANDE LOWLANDS
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Preserving the Heritage. Honouring the Purpose. Protecting the Future.
At GRANDE LOWLANDS, we believe that a Dachshund should be as functional as it is beautiful.
For us, correct conformation, natural hunting ability and a stable temperament are three equally important foundations of the breed. None should ever be developed at the expense of another.
The Dachshund's unique construction serves a purpose. Shaped through generations to work both above and below ground, the breed represents a remarkable balance of strength, agility and determination. We strive to preserve sound, well-balanced and breed-typical conformation, where elegance and functionality exist in harmony.
We deeply respect the Dachshund's hunting heritage and believe in preserving its natural instincts, courage, endurance and willingness to work. These qualities are essential to the breed's identity and should never be forgotten.
Equally important is a confident, stable and balanced temperament. A Dachshund should be courageous and self-assured, yet friendly, trustworthy and a devoted companion in everyday life.
Health, soundness and the welfare of every individual dog must always form the foundation of our breeding decisions.
Our ambition is not merely to breed beautiful Dachshunds or successful show dogs, but to preserve the complete Dachshund — a dog that embodies correct conformation, working ability and sound temperament.
For the breed. For its heritage. For generations to come.
